By Diane Snyder

At this exact moment in time you are probably reading this article right now because you are in need of a new pet or rather companion. Quite a few of your friends have suggested that you get any one of AKC Parti colored Yorkie puppies for sale at the moment and you are mulling over the idea. If you are a bit interested in this breed, then do finish up on this article for more information before you decide.

First of all before taking on any pet, whether that pet be a Yorkie or not, take stock of your true intentions and suitability to take care of one. Most people will take on a pet because of a whim or just a fad for the moment. Make sure that you are in it for the long haul, for life actually, as you will be taking care of living thing, just like a human being. If you are not prepared for a long term responsibility, do not get a pet.

When you are quite sure that you are really pet owner material, then the next step will be to get as much information as possible about your chosen pet. Look for information as regards its health, upkeep and maintenance, and any other issues that you should be mindful of so that you can be a good and responsible owner.

In essence, the so called parti colored Yorkie is no different from an ordinary Yorkie or rather Yorkshire terrier. It is also a pure breed like the regular Yorkie except that it has more color variation. A standard terrier will have range of colorings from tan and blue and mixtures in between, while the parti one will have black, white and tan variants and combinations.

Yorkies only come as pure breeds, and add to this their popularity then you can expect to pay a pretty penny with price ranges between USD1200 and USD1500. Prices are of course higher if registered with the American Kennel Club, and also depending on regional supply and demand conditions.

Personality wise it can be quite a bossy dog and will be known for its tenacity, feistiness and courage. Although small, it really has all the traits of the larger terrier and may require an owner with a strong personality so that it can be more easily trained. So if you have a meek personality, this may not be really the dog for you.

Despite its small size, this dog is surprisingly long lived. It has an average lifespan of around thirteen to twenty years. Longer years of course can be attributed to extra loving care and proper nutrition. The latter is most important due to the inherent digestive sensitivity of the breed.

Like any dog, they also have their share of health issues, such as chronic diarrhea, if one is not careful with its diet, and also vomiting. They are easily injured also and are very sensitive to any form of anesthesia, and thus must be kept indoors a majority of the time to prevent any untoward incidents.
